What documentation do I need in order to sign up for the MMU?
- Medical Records documenting a qualifying condition.
- Must be a Resident of FL or a Seasonal Resident (Driver’s License/Photo ID)
- Must be 18 years or older
My dispensary told me to call my medical marijuana clinic to increase my flower. Do you assist with recommendation changes?
- Review of your dispensation history
- Fee of $120.00
- Forms need to be completed and reviewed for the state
- The forms are uploaded to the state
- The state takes up to 14 business days to approve or deny your application
I received an email saying my MMU license is set to expire, can you help me with this?
- Download step-by-step instructions here.
- Our patients can schedule an appointment with patient educator team to guide them through the process of renewal for a fee of $50.00

How can I renew my recommendation?
- Call (305) 426-5220 or email contact@mjspecialist.com Whether you are one of our existing patients or coming from a different clinic.
- We can renew your recommendation via telehealth.
Do I need medical records?
Yes, all patients that are registered with the MMU will need medical records from a qualified physician.
How many days does it take for me to received my MMU card?
- We register you for your card application that day, your card comes in the mail in 10 business days from when they approve the application.
- As a Florida resident you are still able to go to a dispensary the same day of your approval.
- Seasonal residents place in their application day of and process can take up to 14 business days to get approved and card sent through mail for another 10 business days (Can not go to dispensary until application is approved)
Can I change my recommendation?
Yes, an initial adjustment is free, there will be a $50.00 charge thereafter
How much will it cost to renew my recommendation?
- $120 renewal fees for existing patients
- Patients coming from other clinics with valid medical records, will incur a doctor transfer fee of $50. and $120 renewal fee.
If I move, how do I update my information in the registry?
- When you are renewing your MMU License, as long as your Driver’s License is updated with your new address, the MMU will pull from the DMV database
When will my card be eligible to renew?
- Your MMU license expires annually
- Your MMU license will have an expiration date on it when you receive it via mail.
- The state will allow a patient to renew 45 days prior to their expiration
Do you offer Veterans Discounts?
- Yes, we offer a 25% discount to Veterans with valid Military ID
I’m on probation, am I still eligible?
- Yes, you are still eligible for your MMU license and recommendation if you are on STATE probation not FEDERAL
- We will need current medical records from a qualified physician to register you for the MMU
Can I travel out of state with my medication?
No, you are only legally allowed to carry your medicinal marijuana in the state of FL, each state is different so make sure to read up on the laws
Can I still have my gun license and my medical card?
Yes. Once you have your CWL, it will not be revoked after you become a therapeutic marijuana patient. In short, Florida’s state laws do not prevent you from having both your legal marijuana card and your CWL
